Bassella

La Clua

This is the southernmost municipality of the county of Alt Urgell, lying between Noguera and Solsonès on either side of the Segre, from the Oliana to the Pubill range. This is one of the municipalities most affected by the Rialb reservoir: the irrigated land, the village of Bassella and the villages of Aguilar and Castellnou de Bassella, as well as several farms, now lie completely or partly beneath the water.

The municipality also includes the villages of Ogern, La Clua d’Aguilar, Altés, Guardiola de Segre, the hamlets of Mirambell and Serenyana, the site of Sant Mer, the old parish of La Salsa and farmhouses like La Portella, El Masucó, La Codina, Argelagoses, El Puit and Vilaplana.

The main communications link is the C-14 transversal trunk road towards Seu d’Urgell. The other link is the C-26 county road from Bassella to Solsona, passing through Ogern.
