At the same time, in the Segre Rialb region you can enjoy the pleasure of savouring dishes created with true products from the region, which are the basis of our traditional, home-made, Mediterranean cuisine.
Even today, within the Consortium the primary sector is one of the most important and this is why a large number of restaurants use fresh, local products.
The market gardens of Gualter, Ponts, Oliana, the River Rialb and the River Segre offer a diversity of local products such as vegetables, wild mushrooms, olives, nuts, trout and potatoes, most importantly the buffet potato.
And, for the most demanding palates, highlights include the truffle, the Baronia de Rialb truffle of the tuber melanosporum species, Castell-llebre cheese, Bruneta beef – locally made products like cured meats, olive oil and honey. And, for the true gourmets... giant croissants from Ponts, “coca” cakes, Oliana biscuits...
